Upgrade proposed for central fish market becoming seafood distribution hub

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Luck Wajananawat, said the FSO is now planned to improve its ports and other facilities to accommodate more catches and seafood products processed via the organization. The FSO in 2017 processed more than 300,000 tons of seafood products worth 20 billion baht. The amount of the products is expected to continuously increase. The Deputy Minister added the FSO has been playing its parts in the solving of illegal fishing that resulted in the improvement of the situation, thus the organization is being considered to expand its roles as a consultant to neighboring countries facing the problem.
