The Thai Red Cross Society has held a meeting in Samut Sakhon province to confirm its role and responsibilities in assisting the public in 7 provinces, is of the same high standard and known to members.
Secretary-General of the Thai Red Cross Society Phan Wannamethee presided over the meeting where he was joined in discussions by other Thai Red Cross Society members from Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Phathom, Prachuab Khiri Khan, Petchaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram and Samut Sakhon provinces.
Phan said during the meeting that regional offices of the Thai Red Cross Society play a major role in carrying out the important tasks of the organization which include helping impoverished citizens, the elderly, and those affected by natural disasters as well as accepting blood and organ donations.
According to President of the Petchaburi Province Red Cross Chapter Chatporn Ratsadorndusadee, it was the 152nd meeting of the Thai Red Cross Region 4 and the first of the 2018 financial year.
The meetings, which are held every 4 months, are aimed at providing information and publicizing regional achievements among members in the 7 provinces. It also provides a platform for them to exchange ideas and information regarding the work of the Thai Red Cross Society.
