The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in most parts of the country until this weekend as the northwesterly wind is moving across the Gulf of Thailand.
According to the Meteorological Department, rains can be expected in the Central region, Northeast, East and the South of Thailand until Sunday. In addition to precipitation, the arrival of cold air masses from China on Monday will cause the temperatures in the upper parts of the country to drop by 4-6 degrees Celsius.
Citizens nationwide, including those in Bangkok and its vicinity, have been advised to brace themselves for gusty winds and wet weather conditions during this period. Farmers have been warned of possible damage to their crops.
Boat operators in the South of Thailand should take precautionary measures as waves at sea could reach 3 meters high. Small fishing boats should remain in port until February 2nd due to poor weather conditions.
