Private sector discuss digital age survival

The Federation of Thai Capital Market Organizations has organized a seminar on the Thai economy and technological changes to provide suggestions for business survival in the digital era.

Governor of the Bank of Thailand Veerathai Santiprabhob suggested that businesses should embrace changes and adjust themselves in order to survive and move forward. In order to prepare for technological changes, businesses must pay attention to efficiency enhancement while using technology and innovation, said the governor.

The governor further suggested that economy in the digital era must give the highest priority to information. He added that skills of people in the working-age population must be developed so that they can succeed in the digital era.

During the seminar, Tisco Securities CEO Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn predicted that the Thai economy this year will grow by 4% which is similar to 2017, saying that purchasing power in the country will increase if the government can stimulate the grassroots economy.
