The Learning Research Institute (LRI) has organized an international academic conference designed to raise English language proficiency among children in Thailand.
Secretary-General of the Office of the Private Education Commission Payom Chinnawong presided over the opening ceremony of the international conference “Advancing Early Childhood Education in ASEAN towards Sustainable Development” at the Chulabhorn Research Institute.
During the conference, an Australian education expert proposed that Thai kindergartens adopt the English language-based HOPE Curriculum, in order to promote children’s English skills. The curriculum is aligned with the 20-year national strategy and Thailand’s early childhood curriculum 2017, which aims to promote essential skills for children in the 21st century.
HOPE Curriculum was designed specifically for children to help them develop the ability to speak, read, and write effectively and understand English readily.
